Round 6 V's Koondrook / Barham

Well done to the social club for their efforts last week and if you ask anyone that was there a great time was had by all at the cocktail party. Hopefully this will encourage a few more to make an appearance next time – which happens to be next week with the Mystery Bus Trip. Listen out for more details during the week. Tonight we are back to the Boga Pub for tea, see you all there.

Unfortunately there was not too much to write home about on the football scene last week. Both the colts and seniors dropped games against sides close to them on the ladder, while the twos were outclassed against an undefeated Raiders side. One positive for the day was the return of some key players from injury (or milking) – good to see big Wes, Azza and Snake back in form, while we wish Jaydo the best with a pesky string. No doubt all sides will be out for a much better showing today. Award winners for last week were as follows:

Colts

Jacob Fifita (Heil Builders), Sam Griffiths (Keighran’s Milk Bar), Daniel Haines (Wiseman’s Plumbing),  Toby O’Grady (KFC), Kiel Tripcony (Mallee Milk), Ryan McCallister (Red Rooster), Rhys Bull, Josh Cameron and Darren Scown.

Reserves

Shaun Demario (Federal Hotel), Jacob Fifita (Tripodi & Taverna), Nathan Keighran (Swan Hill Club), Robbie Baulch (Boga Pub, Jamie Robertson, Brett Davies, Terry Dewhurst and Tommy ‘Hinges’ McLaughlin.

Seniors

Awards went to Karl Robertson (Federal Hotel), Wes Harrison (Caltex), Azza Lonergan (Quo Vadis), Cliff Ryan (Swan Hill Club), Brent ‘The Prawn’ Forsyth (Swan Hill Taxi), Willy Watson (Boga Pub) and Joel Heil (R&K Dunstone Fuel).

Netball

A big ‘Congratulations’ goes out to the mighty 15 and Under girls for a strong and courageous win. The girls showed that with great team work, determination and quality coaching, winning is achievable. Well done girls, you should be proud of your effort. Now let’s keep it up and do it again this week.

A very special mention goes out to Courtney McAlister, Demi Nolan and Ashleigh Moore for coming up from the 15 and Under side to fill in for those 17 and Under girls that made their Début on Saturday. These girls really stepped up and played great netball across the court. They even managed to pick up some awards along the way. Great to see such wonderful club spirit. Also ‘Congratulations’ to the beautiful girls and guys that danced the night away and made their Debut at the Boga Deb- very impressive. Well done to Julie Reither and her helpers for the amazing job at organizing and preparing the Debs. Spectacular!
